Mr. Robert Etheredge is a proud member of the Saluda High School class of 1999. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina, Master’s in Educational Leadership from Cambridge College. Mr. Etheredge is an accomplished educator and has served in many roles in his career. 

He began his career in education as a PE Teacher at Strom Thurmond High School in 2005-2010. He has also been a teacher and Head Boys Basketball Coach at Swansea and Saluda High. Mr. Etheredge became an Administrator at Saluda High at the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year. He served as an Assistant Principal for 3 years before being named Principal in 2019.

In addition to being a Principal and Teacher, Mr. Etheredge is also a licensed trainer for the International Institute of Restorative Practices. He is very passionate about the social and emotional well-being of his students and staff. He believes in building a culture of community; one relationship at a time.

Dr. Kendra Williams serves as the Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction; a role she has held for the past 5 years at SMS. She was first inspired to enter the field of education having been influenced by her kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Sullivan, her mother who stressed the value of education, and a personal desire to help disadvantaged youth reach their full potential.

Dr. Williams holds an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education, an Educational Specialist degree in Counselor Education, a Master's degree in Educational Administration, and a Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership. She has served in several roles throughout her career with all roads centering on students ranging from elementary through the collegiate level.

Dr. Williams is a servant leader at heart who believes that EVERY student/person has the potential to be great, they just need the right cheerleader, and the belief in themselves to achieve it. As an administrator, she often recalls this quote, "Your gifts are not about you, Your leadership is not about you, Your purpose is not about you. A life of significance is about SERVING those who need your gifts, your leadership, and your purpose." She is proud to serve the faculty, students, and community of Saluda County School District.

Jonathan Ergle

Mr. Jonathan Ergle is a proud graduate of the Saluda High School class of 1999. From there he attended Lander University where he received his undergraduate degree in History.  After college, Mr. Ergle moved back to Saluda where he began his teaching career at Saluda Middle School.  After three years at Saluda Middle School, he moved to the high school where he taught social studies and driver training.  At the same time, he obtained his master’s degree and certification in administration. After 10 years of service, Mr. Ergle moved to the Saluda Opportunity Academy where he taught for two years.  Most recently, he served as the Director of Saluda Opportunity Academy/Saluda County Adult Education and feels that his positive experiences there have provided him with the necessary tools to offer his leadership skills where his career began. He looks forward to doing his part as a member of the Saluda Middle School team as they help all students maximize their full potential.
